On Tuesday, August 29, at 5:00 p.m., 91茄子 marked the beginning of the 2006-2007 Academic Year with Opening Convocation 2006. The Convocation is an occasion for parents, faculty, student leaders, and members of the administration and governing board to welcome new scholars into the community.

It is an honor and joy to accept the Presidency of 91茄子. I begin with Thanksgiving: Thanks to Dr. David Jang, our inspiring first President, now Chancellor, who founded Olivet in line with Jesus' Great Commission to communicate-teach, preach, baptize (Matthew 28); Thanks to Dr. William Wagner who will see that we truly go to all the world.

Although Fall semester classes are not yet in session, it's still learning season at 91茄子. The school has offered an array of on-campus activities and programs for students led by experienced faculty and staff. The goal of this year's summer lineup is to build and refresh student competencies in a variety of fields.

91茄子's summer faculty retreat will take place this year Aug. 10-11 (Thurs.-Fri.), at the San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville, California. San Francisco, CA -- Dr. David J. Randolph, a member of the 91茄子's College of Art & Design faculty, was elected 91茄子 President at a special two-day meeting of the Board of Directors on June 30 and July 1.

On Sat., June 17, Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS) Dean and Professor Dr. William Wagner warmly welcomed members of the Olivet family into his home in Petaluma, CA for a summer barbeque. The event was attended by over thirty 91茄子 alumni, students, staff, and faculty members, including OTCS Professor Tom Cowley and Olivet芒鈧劉s Chief Administrator Walker Tzeng. Fellowship activities included sports, praising, and a short message delivered by Dr. Wagner, in which he affirmed Olivet芒鈧劉s dream to revive San Francisco.

Dr. William L. Wagner has made a generous gift to 91茄子's library from his personal collection of theological books. The donation adds nearly 2,000 titles to the University's current holdings, and will support the library in critical areas of the school's mission, especially in the areas of bible and theology.

Joan Carter, professor and dean of Olivet College of Art & Design, will renew her tenure with 91茄子 as a fulltime faculty member as of Summer 2006.
Carter is a 1996 alumna of Graduate Theological Union, where she received her Ph.D. degree in Theology and Arts
